What makes Edanz different
Scientists and academics face a harsh reality: ‘Publish or Perish’. As president of Edanz, I make a commitment to all of our clients. Our resources are there to help authors whose first language is not English achieve acceptance for publication. Edanz has four important features:
- First, transparency - the profiles of our expert editors are on our website.
- Second, we were the first company in the language editing industry to offer authors services that go beyond just editing.
- Third, we provide authors free resources that can enhance your chances of acceptance.
- Fourth, we are, and always will be, innovators of new services and tools that help you, the author, get published. An example is the Edanz Journal Advisor platform and its Journal Selector tool.
I am proud of the achievements of our worldwide team of editors and the staff in our Japan and China offices. Authors using Edanz services can be confident that their paper will have the best possible chance of publication. I personally guarantee the quality of our work.

Edanz Achievements
Edanz has achieved a lot since 1995. However, most notable for me are not the physical achievements such as being the first to go online or to localize in China, it is the sense of trust our author clients have in the quality of the work we do for them. Every month about 85% of the work we do is for repeat clients. More than 400 authors have each sent us over 20 manuscripts.
Another achievement I am proud of is the team that is Edanz. As well as the more than 400 expert editors, our team includes 24 staff in the Fukuoka office and 18 in Beijing. Everyone is focused on the goal of helping our author clients get published. Our 17 years of experience and editing quality mean that Edanz is regarded as the “gold standard” English editing service.
Author Community Outreach
Worldwide, Edanz is recognized as the author-centric English editing company. We focus on providing a variety of services, free and paid for, to authors for whom English is not their first language. We aim to help these authors achieve their publication goals by giving them tools, helpful materials and training seminars to overcome barriers to publication.
Seminars and Workshops
Our author community outreach program already delivers training seminars worldwide: in Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Brazil, USA, India, South Korea and Turkey. In the coming year more authors in these countries and many others will have access to these training programs. Most are delivered in cooperation with our publishing partners; Springer, BioMed Central and AIP. These seminars and training workshops have a variety of subject focuses, from how to write a world-class manuscript to the publication process.
Online Help
We develop and deliver tools (our Journal Selector for example), materials (visit the Springer Author Academy developed by Edanz), and training seminars and workshops to authors who might not otherwise have access to the resources that are available in countries where English is the native language.
Our success as an English editing service, and the level of success of our author outreach program, is measured by the extent of your publication success.
