In-house Editorial Resource Administrator or Editorial Resource Manager

This is an in-house position within our Author Support Team, which comprises 15+ in-house staff in our Fukuoka office as well as several remote and part-time contracted staff members in other parts of Japan and the UK. The position mainly involves the recruitment, onboarding, training, and general management of our team of 300+ freelance scientific editors and research consultants located around the world. Other duties may include software administration, developing new training modules for freelancers, and assisting with cross-departmental projects. There is scope for the position to grow and evolve with the right candidate.

The Author Support Team includes Japanese and international staff. Japanese language skills are helpful but not required. Salary will reflect qualifications and experience. A working visa can be sponsored if needed. Housing is not provided but assistance to obtain housing may be provided. Domestic relocation expenses may be covered. Relocation expenses from outside Japan will not be considered.

 

Minimum requirements

-Full professional proficiency in English (IELTS 7-8/TOEFL iBT 94-109/TOEIC 901+) or native speaker

-BA/BSc degree or equivalent carried out in English

-Three+ years of administrative experience and/or relevant work experience

-Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Google applications, and communication software

-Proven data management experience

-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; customer service and diplomatic mentality

-Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities

-Interest and experience in interacting with different levels and departments within a company

 

Preferred qualifications:

-Five years of relevant work experience

-Graduate degree and/or research publishing experience

-Software administration experience

 

Conditions

Work type: full time/experienced

Salary range JPY 250,000 to JPY 350,000/month; negotiable

Holidays: 10 days for the first year (in accordance with Japanese law) + Japanese national holidays or days in-lieu + 2 sick days + performance-based bonus holidays possible
