
Adam graduated with a first class BSc in Psychology from the University of Liverpool in 2007. As part of his studies, he completed a research project on mnemonic strategies and second language learning. After graduating from university, he worked for two years in the field of autism and gained knowledge of the STM publishing process through contact with an in-house research team. A lifelong interest in Japanese culture saw Adam move to Japan in 2009, and he began work at Edanz in September 2012.

Rebecca’s undergraduate research focused on the interpretation of visual culture through theoretical frameworks, which sparked an interest in communication strategies. This, coupled with an interest in travel and language, saw her move to Japan and begin working for Edanz in 2011. A motivated member of the Quality Control Editing Team, she uses her strong research and analytical skills to great effect when ensuring the quality and accuracy of the products that Edanz delivers to its author-clients.

Andy graduated from The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, with a first class BA (Hons) in History. His love of travel brought him to Japan in 2010, and he joined the Edanz Quality Control Editing Team in August 2011. A valued member of the team, he consistently applies his understanding of language and grammar to his role within Edanz. Andy is also involved in a range of other projects, including managing the development of resources for authors during the writing and submission process.

Ben is a dedicated member of the Quality Control Editing team. He has a deep understanding of the mechanisms of language and communication and takes a keen interest in applying his creativity to improving his contribution to Edanz. Projects Ben has spearheaded include the writing and publication of news items detailing Edanz’s international author workshops and the creation of a series of instructional videos for authors and editors. Ben has a BA in Japanese and is a fluent speaker of Japanese.

Born and raised in the UK, Chris graduated with a BA in Japanese Studies from the University of Sheffield. As part of his studies, he spent a year at Meiji University, Japan. After graduating, he worked for five years as a Japanese-English translator and interpreter, giving him insight into the difficulties encountered by non-native authors. He brings these valuable language skills to his role in Edanz where he began working as a copy editor in 2010. Chris is fluent in Japanese.

Scott has lived in Japan since 1995, and prior to joining Edanz, worked as a Japanese-English translator for 8 years. As the senior member of the Quality Control Editing Team, Scott is involved in doing meticulous final checks of our clients’ projects, coordinating the QC workflow, developing training materials for new editors, and testing new editor candidates. Scott has a BA in Copywriting and is also fluent in Japanese.
