イギリス在住。University College Londonで博士課程を修了し、UCSD（カリフォルニア）のScripps研究所の博士研究員を務める。Elsevier誌の編集長(～2007年)等、様々なポジションの経験を持つメディカルライター兼エディター。

Dr.Mahkdum was a research fellow at the University College London before becoming at Postdoctoral Research fellow at the Scripps Institute at UCSD in California. Since 2000 Dr Makhdum has been a medical writer and editor holding various positions including Managing Editor at Elsevier in Oxford from 2005 to 2007. Dr Makhdum began as an editor with Edanz Editing and Liwen Bianji(Edanz Editing China)in 2008.
