From April 28 to May 8, Edanz joined Springer once again to bring their popular author workshops to a new location—this time, Turkey. Workshops were hosted at four institutions, located in historic and vibrant Istanbul, the scenic seaside city of Izmir and the cosmopolitan capital, Ankara.

William Achauer, Senior Marketing Manager of Springer's Asian Marketing Development team, was recently in Japan. On Monday 26 March, he visited the Edanz Japan office to discuss Springer's global marketing strategy. He also took time out to meet the Edanz team outside of the office, relaxing and enjoying the renowned local cuisine.

Brazil, already famous for stunning scenery and wonderful hospitality, is fast becoming a major source of exciting scientific research. Edanz joined its partners Springer and BioMed Central to host a series of author workshops there between March 13 and 19, with the aim of helping Brazilian authors tackle some of the challenges they face in getting published in international journals.

Scientific publishing workshops in Iran
Edanz, Springer and three universities in Iran hosted a free author workshop about scientific publishing on November 24, 27, 28 and 29, 2011. The total number of attendees across all four workshops exceeded 2,000 people.

Kerry Greer, President of Edanz Group, held a pre-conference workshop entitled "English language editing for African scientists" at Open Access Africa 2011, hosted by BioMed Central in partnership with Computer Aid International and held at Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science And Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana on 24 October 2011.
